Diary of a Mad Housewife-alpha ed.

Has anybody noticed that we have gone right from Halloween to Christmas? It seems to me that the reason we get to celebrate Christmas is because of that first Thanksgiving so long ago. I am not deluded into thinking that the reason for the lack of Thanksgiving festivities is because of religious fervor for the season, it is out and out GREED! I am not opposed to stores making money at this time of year, I just wish that I didn't have to listen to Muzak Christmas carols the day after Halloween. Subdivisions around us already have their lights up--going to be so tired by Jan. 1st.!
It is no wonder that we have such a soul less culture right now, it's all about the money. I have started a one woman rebellion, no Christmas until Dec. 1st. If my grandchildren don't get "the perfect Christmas present", so be it. Bring on that fat laden Thanksgiving dinner!! YUM YUM!
